Entitlements/Benefits

Compensation: Receive 63 days of pay for 39 days of participation.

When you serve: As little as one weekend (inactive duty training) per month plus two weeks (active dutytraining) each year.

College Enrollment: As a member of the Air Force Reserve, you are automatically enrolled in the fully accredited Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) which offers 66applied science associates degrees. .

Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR): For a six-year commitment with the Air Force Reserve, you?ll be automatically eligible for the MGIB-SR. TheMGIB-SR provides members with monthly financial assistance for college courses.
Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserve Kicker (MGIB-SR Kicker): An education program that provides $350 a monthsupplemental assistance to qualified Reserve members in certain critical career fields.
Post 9-11: You may also opt for the "Post 9-11" GI Bill program which pays a percentage of tuition, based on your servicetime, rather than a flat mothly dollar amount.

Tuition Assistance Program: After you successfully complete your college courses, you can receive 100% tuition reimbursement up to $4,500 per yearfor undergraduate courses and 75% up to $3,500/yr for graduate courses.

CLEP: The College Level Examination Program allows you to earn college credits by scoring a passing grade on each CLEP test.These tests are available free to Reserve members and their spouses.

DANTES: Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support. Members and their spouses are reimbursed after taking suchtests as SAT, DSST, ACT, GRE.

College credit: You will earn college credits for your Air Force technical training and professional military education (PME).

Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges: Aconsortium of more than 1,550 colleges and universities providing educational opportunities to Reserve members, allowing you to enroll in associates, bachelors and graduate degree programs.
