3. Evolution of Internet access as well as electronic devices ownership in Spain, France, Italy and UK.
The case of Spain:
In Spain, there are some early descriptive studies carried out on thebasis of independent surveys concerning the adoption of Information Technologies and communications in the country. Spain’s Internet usage has climbed dramatically in recent years.Internet access in terms of age

In January 2007, Spain had over 19,204,000 Internet users, almost 43% of the population. As for broadband (cable and ADSL Internet), this is stillsomewhat lower than the overall EU market average penetration (50.9%) and the price to performance ratio is lower too, making the Internet relatively expensive in these terms.

Taking into account the information provided by this graphs, over 23 million people in Spain have access to the internet and over 90% of this people areusing the internet regularly (in the last month). In terms of age, the younger population shows a higher usage rate of the internet.
Internet access has been growing constantly over the last 10years, however it has reached a point where the number of installed lines is starting to decrease its growing level. For example between 2005 and 2006 over one million lines where installed in Spain,while between 2008 and 2009 near 200,000 lines where installed.
The case of Italy, France and UK:
Internet penetration in Italy stood at approximately 49 percent in 2008. According to thefirst national study of Internet and computer usage, published in 2007, about 33 percent of children under age eleven, 75 percent of adolescents and adult women, and more than 80 percent of adult menaccess the Internet each month. As of 2006, 47 percent of households had a home computer, and 40 percent of households had Internet access.
