EL BLENDED-LEARNING: EVALUACIÓN DE UNA
EXPERIENCIA DE APRENDIZAJE EN EL NIVEL DE
POSTGRADO

RESUMEN

El desarrollo de la instrucción semi-presencial (blended learning), como
modalidad educativa alternativa frente al e-learning tradicional y al
paradigma presencial de instrucción, ha generado unaexpectativa
favorable entre los actores de la educación universitaria. Con el propósito
de someter a verificación tal percepción, se diseñó un estudio en el cual
se puso a prueba dicha modalidad. La experiencia consistió en la
administración de un curso avanzado de Construcción de Instrumentos de
Investigación en el Programa de Doctorado en Educación de la UPELRubio (Venezuela). Se utilizó unamuestra intacta, accesible al
investigador, de n = 26 estudiantes graduados, de género masculino y
femenino, con una edad promedio de 42 años (s = 5) y profesores
universitarios. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron: una matriz de
desempeño académico, un cuestionario de evaluación del curso, una
escala de estimación sobre la percepción de la calidad del mismo y un
cuestionario de autoevaluación de losestudiantes. Los resultados indican
que: (a) los estudiantes obtuvieron una calificación promedio de 9 sobre
10; (b) el grupo tuvo una percepción favorable sobre el nivel de calidad
del curso; (c) el 96% se sintió satisfecho con el curso y consideraron que
sus expectativas habían sido logradas; y (d) el 80% prefiere la modalidad
semi-presencial de aprendizaje en comparación con la opción presencial
ola de curso en línea. Se concluye que la expectativa generada por el
blended learning como modalidad alternativa de instrucción se cumplió
en el presente caso objeto de estudio.

EXPERIENCEAT THE POSTGRADUATE LEVEL
ABSTRACT

The development of blended-learning as an alternative to the traditional
e-learning educational modality and to the presential paradigm has arisen
favourable expectations among the university education population. To
verify this perception, a study to test this modality was designed. The
experience involved the offering of an advanced course on Building ofResearch Instruments as part of the Education Doctorate Programme of
UPEL-Rubio (Venezuela). An intact sample accessible to the researcher
was used, it consisted of: n = 26 graduate students, male and female,
averaging 42years of age (s= 5) and university professors. The
instruments used were: an academic performance matrix, a course
evaluation questionnaire, a valuation range to estimate theperception of
quality raised by the course and a student’s self-evaluation questionnaire.
The results show that: a) the average grade obtained by the students was
9 over 10; b) the group had a favourable perception of the quality level
of the course; c) 96% was satisfied with the course and considered it met
their expectations; d) 80% preferred the blended-learning modality as
compared to the presential orto the on line courses. The conclusion,
therefore, was that the expectations arisen by the blended-learning
modality were fulfilled in the cases studied.
