Title: How can we change the density of water?
Objective: After the development of an experiment the student is able to:
Determine the effect of floating according with thedensity of the water.
(5) Matter and energy
(A) classify matter based on physical properties, including mass, magnetism, physical state (solid, liquid, and gas), relative density (sinking and floating),solubility in water, and the ability to conduct or insulate thermal energy or electric energy;
Assignment 4A: Design a team-oriented cooperative learning activity, and include the followingcomponents: what the teacher to student interaction will look like, what the student to student interactions will look like, what the task specialization will be, what materials will be required, what roleexpectations and student responsibilities will be developed for the group, and what will individual and group assessment look like. Keep your area of certification in mind as you develop youractivity and submit your assignment to your instructor.

Team-Oriented Cooperative Learning Activity
Cooperative Learning Components
Grade Level/Activity Science, Grade 5: Density
After theinstruction to the whole class of the term of the density the students have to compare where the balls can float. One container will have fresh water but the other will have water with salt. First, thestudents have to discuss in their group where they think the ball will going to float. They have to write their predictions in the first part of the worksheet. Them they will compare their predictionsafter put the ball in each container. At the end they have to develop a conclusion based in their observations individually.
Student to Student Interactions Most of the student interaction was to betalking among themselves in groups. They have to share their predictions of the experiment and explain among them the reasons for their conclusions. It will be the opportunity to develop social...
