Bill Gates
Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955. He was born into a family with a rich history of business, politics, and community service. Gates’ great-grandfather was the state legislator and mayor, and Gates’ grandfather was the vice-president for the national bank. William H. Gates, Bill Gates’ father, was the prominent, Seattle defensive lawyer. Mary Maxwell Gates, Bill Gates’ mother,was the school teacher and the chairperson for the United Way Charity.
His grandfather always said, “Curiosity kills the cat, but not Bill”, he was very curious but he always found out what it was. His parents encouraged him to learn about everything. He was very competitive and he loved to prove he was the best at what he did. As he grew up he started to be a “dividualista”, he started to getangry at her mother and rebelled. (Between 11 & 12)
During his elementary school life, he surpassed all of his classmates, especially in Science and Math. As soon as his parents noticed his intelligence, they enrolled Gates to Lakeside School, private school. This school was known for its intense academic environment. Also this school first introduced Gates to the computers. Bill Gatessaid, “When I was thirteen, my school (Lakeside School) installed a teletype machine that connected in downtown Seattle. From that point on, my friends and I spent most of our free time writing programs and figuring out how to make the computer do interesting things.”
Paul Gardner Allen born January 21, 1953. One of the richest people in the world with a personal wealth of US$12.7 billion as of2010. Suffered the Hodgkin lymphoma cancer.
Bill Gates and Paul Allen when they were 15 they went into business with a software called Traf-o-Data. It worked to measure the average of traffic in Seattle. They won “1.400.00 pesetas limpias” with that project.
When he grew up, at one point he worked at the Capitol with the senates. This helped him as the years past.
He and Allen wentback to school and asked for permission to leave because they found a job together in a company of computers. They thought of creating their own company but his parents didn’t let him because they said he had to finish school and go to university.
At the university, the first year he thought of studying rights, but none of the classes brought his attention so he changed to math. As he continuedhe found out that he wasn’t the best in Harvard at math so he dropped out. He played a lot of poker a the university just like everybody and her mom.
The firs personal computer came out and as soon as possible, allen and him started working on a software for it. They were day in and day out in the computer lab of Harvard working on it. In 1975 they went to the Albuquerque to see if the programworked, and it did. This was a big turning point for both of them.
His love for the computers started when he school where he studied at (Lakeside School) made a pact and bought a computer for the school. This was a huge step because those computers were very expensive and almost anybody had one. He fell in love in what the computer could do and one thing led to another…
Later, Gateswas accepted to Harvard University. On January 1, 1994, Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates (well known as Giggles) married in Hawaii. They met each other at College. Currently, they have three children: Jennifer Katherine Gates (born in 1996), Rory John Gates (born in 1999), and Phoebe Adelle Gates (born in 2002). In Harvard, he met Paul Allen, who became Gates’ close friend. They got obsessedwith the computers that they were late to some of their classes. They even skipped some classes to be in the computer lab. Unfortunately, their computer time finished after spring. However, they didn’t graduate in Harvard. He dropped out the last year because he didn’t have time enough. He had to start on his company.
