Businesss Continuity Plan

Purpose

The purpose of this Business Continuity Plan is to prepare Remittance Center S.A. in the event of extended service outages caused by factors beyond its control (e.g., natural disasters, man-made events), and to restore services to the widest extent possible in a minimum time frame. Preventive measures will be implemented whenever possible to minimizeoperational disruptions and to recover as rapidly as possible when an incident occurs.

The plan identifies vulnerabilities and recommends necessary measures to prevent extended voice communications service outages.

Scope

The scope of this plan is limited to the preservation of essential data and functions as well as the maintenance of payment services and activities when an unlikely eventoccurs.


Plan objectives

• Provides procedures and resources needed to assist in recovery.
• Provides references and points to the location of critical data.
• Identifies vendors and customers that must be notified in the event of a disaster.
• Assists in avoiding confusion experienced during a crisis by documenting, testing and reviewing recovery procedures.
• Identifies alternatesources for supplies, resources and locations.
• Documents storage, safeguarding and retrieval procedures for vital records.


Assumptions

• Key people (Managing Director and Operations Manager) will be available following a disaster.
• A backup of all vital records are stored in a secure off-site location and not only survive the disaster but are accessible immediately following thedisaster.

Disaster Definition

Any loss of utility service (power, phone lines), connectivity (internet access), or catastrophic event (weather, natural disaster, fire, vandalism) that causes an interruption in the service provided by Spain. The plan identifies vulnerabilities and recommends measures to prevent extended service outages.


Staff Responsibilities

• All of the employees shouldkeep an updated calling list of their co-worker’s work, home, and mobile phone numbers both at home and at work.
• All team members should keep this plan for reference at home in case the disaster happens after normal work hours. All team members should familiarize themselves with the contents of this plan.



Instructions for using the Business Continuity Plan





Invoking the planThis plan becomes effective when a disaster occurs. Normal problem management procedures will initiate the plan, and remain in effect until operations are resumed at the original location and control is returned to the appropriate functional management.





Disaster declaration


The Senior Management Team is responsible for declaring a disaster and activating the various recoveryteams as outlined in this plan.

In a major disaster situation affecting multiple business units, the decision to declare a disaster will be determined by CBN’s Board of Directors. The managers will respond based on the directives specified by the Directors.


Notification


Regardless of the disaster circumstances, or the identity of the person(s) first made aware of the disaster, themanagers must be informed immediately in the following cases:

• Power and Phone lines are down for more than an hour
• Office is inaccessible
• Office is on fire
• Key employees are not available


Emergency Management Standards


Data Backup Policy
In order to preserve corporate information assets in time of disaster, Remittance has 3 backup procedues in place.

There is a secondaryreplication server in the office, which mirrors the contents of the primary database server and backs up data in real time. In the event that the primary database server crashes, this secondary server will replace the primary server so that there will be no interruptions in the business operation.

The Primary File Server also has a scheduled daily backup, which is saved in the 2nd hard drive...
