Foreword
Dear student, This Study Handbook aims at providing you with detailed information on regulations regarding the Master’s Programme Land Management and Land Tenure and some guidelines for your studies at theCentre of Land and Environmental Risk Management of the Technische Universität München (TUM). For this purpose, Chapters 1 to 3 of this Handbook shortly outline the major objectives and courses structure of the Master’s Programme, and present some regulations with respect to the different units, internships and the Master’s Thesis. Chapter 4 provides information on the specific contents of eachunit, its scheduled dates, the lecturers involved and other relevant details as the workload of each unit and the ECTS credits assigned to them. Chapter 5 and 6 give an explanation of the requirements for graduation and a description of how will your academic performance be assessed. It also provides information on special regulations and general recommendations with regard to how to plan and organiseyour studies and your life in the city of Munich. Finally, in Chapter 7 and 8 you will find a list of all lecturers involved in the Master’s Programme and their contact information, and a literature list which is not only the related literature of each one of the units, but also the actual catalogue of the library of Centre of Land and Environmental Risk Management. 1 EINLEITUNG
Vor dem Hintergrund der gebotenen nachhaltigen Entwicklungstädtischer und ländlicher Räume sind Fragen von Land Policy, Land Tenure, Land Administration und Urban und Rural Land Management von zentraler und zeitloser Bedeutung für die meisten Regionen und Länder der Welt. Sie haben eine entscheidende Bedeutung für deren nachhaltige soziale, ökonomische und ökologische Entwicklung. Fragen des gerechten Zugangs zu und Nutzung von Grund und Boden und damiteinhergehende Konfliktpotentiale werden angesichts der klimatisch und demographisch bedingten Änderungen und ihrer unterschiedlichen regionalen Auswirkungen eine erhöhte Bedeutung erlangen.
