The primary function of the digestive system is to break down the food we eat into smaller parts so the body can use them tobuild and nourish cells and provide energy.

The organs in sequence: mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine,large intestine, rectum, anus.

4. What is the main organ that the system is commonly known to use?
You might consider the "main" organs to be the stomach or the small intestine, since they make upthe majority of the digestive system.
5. How does it interact with other body systems?
The digestive system interacts with the nervous system because the brain has to tell the digestive system and theorgans inside it when to digest the food and how to release it into the many areas of the body. Also the digestive system is connected to the cardiovascular system because the food that exits afterbeing digested by the digestion system enters the blood and gets transferred inside the blood where it's pumped by the heart to all the corners of the body. It's also connected to the excretory systembecause all the useless material that our body generates that can’t be used for energy exits out of the body either from the rectum or the urethra.
6. What causes the system of choice to work?
Theingestion of food and nutrients causes the brain to send a signal to the digestive system, so it can start producing digestive juices and the system commence to work.
