A scientific article presents research written by researchers, mainly aimed at academic use. Some expert of the matter must always review the article.
Scientific articles are divided intodifferent types:
Original articles: Author presents empirical studies and describes the results of the research for the first time.
Review articles: Critical reviews of previouslypublished studies.
Theoretical articles: Developing new theories from existing research.
Scientific articles can also be structured in different ways according to the type of article.They consist of the following elements:
-Abstract: summary of the article.
-Introduction: background information.
-Methodology: so the reader can follow and repeat the researchprocess.
-Result: research results.
-Discussion:evaluation of results. Conclusions and relation to previous research.
-references: Documents that the author has referred to must belisted.
Factors influencing future oil and gas prospects in the Arctic.
The article explores oil and natural gas development in the Arctic. While several commentators have argued that anincrease in Arctic petroleum production in the years to come will follow directly from an increased demand for energy, our study finds that oil and natural gas production in the Arctic isdependent on a range of variables. By using climate-driven changes as a baseline, we examine spill-over effects and conditions that are important for further Arctic hydrocarbon production. Usingthe available literature from different scientific fields, this article provides a broad and nuanced perspective on the much debated question of whether or not the Arctic will become aregion driven by oil and gas production.
