Lio en la clase de ciencias

El profesor de ciencias, Don Estudiete, había pedido a sus alumnos que estudiaran algún animal, hicieran una pequeña redacción, y contaran sus conclusiones al resto de la clase. Unos hablaron de los perros, otros de los caballos o los peces, pero el descubrimiento más interesante fue el de la pequeña Sofía:
- He descubierto quelas moscas son unas gruñonas histéricas - dijo segurísima.
Todos sonrieron, esperando que continuara. Entonces Sofía siguió contando:
- Estuve observado una mosca en mi casa durante dos horas. Cuando volaba tranquilamente, todo iba bien, pero en cuanto encontraba algún cristal, la mosca empezaba a zumbar. Siempre había creido que ese ruido lo hacían con las alas, pero no. Con los prismáticos de mipapá miré de cerca y vi que lo que hacía era gruñir y protestar: se ponía tan histérica, que era incapaz de cruzar una ventana, y se daba de golpes una y otra vez: ¡pom!, ¡pom!, ¡pom!. Si sólo hubiera mirado a la mariposa que pasaba a su lado, habría visto que había un hueco en la ventana... la mariposa incluso trató de hablarle y ayudarle, pero nada, allí seguía protestando y gruñendo.
DonEstudiete les explicó divertido que aquella forma de actuar no tenía tanto que ver con los enfados, sino que era un ejemplo de los distintos niveles de inteligencia y reflexión que tenían los animales, y acordaron llevar al día siguiente una lista con los animales ordenados por su nivel de inteligencia...
Y así fue como se armó el gran lío de la clase de ciencias, cuando un montón de papásprotestaron porque sus hijos... ¡¡les habían puesto entre los menos inteligentes de los animales!! según los niños, porque no hacían más que protestar, y no escuchaban a nadie.
Y aunque Don Estudiete tuvo que hacer muchas aclaraciones y calmar unos cuantos padres, aquello sirvió para que algunos se dieran cuenta de que por muy listos que fueran, muchas veces se comportaban de forma bastante pocointeligente

Trouble in the Science Class

The science teacher, Mr Litmus, had asked his students to study some particular animal. They would write a short report, and tell the rest of the class their conclusions. Some talked about dogs, others about horses, some chose fish. But the most interesting discovery of all was made by little Sophie:
"I found that flies are terribly grumpy", she said, verysure of herself.
Everyone smiled, waiting for her to continue. Then Sophie explained: "I spent hours in my house, watching flies. When they flied normally, everything was OK, but when they found a window they would really start buzzing. I had always thought they made that noise with their wings, but they don't. With my daddy's binoculars I inspected the flies really closely, and saw that what theywere really doing was shouting and protesting. They were so hysterical that they couldn't fly out the window, and they would just beat their heads against the glass again and again. If only they had watched the butterfly that passed by. They would have seen that the top of the window was open. The butterfly tried to tell them, but it had no effect at all. The flies just kept on shouting andcomplaining".
Mr Litmus was amused, and explained to the class that that form of fly behaviour had nothing to do with anger. Instead, it was an example of creatures having different levels of intelligence and awareness. They agreed that the next day they would bring a list of creatures in their order of intelligence...
And this was what caused a big rumpus in the science class. Many parents had to comeand complain, because their children... had listed their parents as among the least intelligent of creatures! This, said the children, was because the parents did nothing but complain, and they never listened to anyone.
And, although Mr Litmus had to do a lot of explaining, and calm down quite a few parents, it helped some of them realise that, although they weren't stupid, they often behaved...
