Utep's ad in el Paso's times newspaper tries to get people to enroll into their health care courses by using ethos,pathos, and logos.They use pathos by using bold letters that say " get ready"that's the first thing that catches the reader's attention , its like a wake up call for those that have been unemployed ,unsuccessful in their current career or that have no college education at all. Thesecond thing that gets the reader's eye, are the pictures of three people, they all look like nurses, and readers know that becoming a nurse is a well paid job, that is the use of logos, that meansthe use of logic. The third thing they use is ethos, the credibility of something meaning we are not talking about any college or small institution, its UTEP, one of the biggest and well respectedcolleges in el paso.

The bold letters that say " get ready". are a statement , not a question or an option, they state what they want you to do, move and get ready. Its a wake up call to do something, and what better but to enroll in a healthcare program that will earn you a degree. This is an example of pathos, which means that they use the words " get ready " to move the reader's emotions , getready gets more to people that don't know what they want to study, or they just don't know what to persuade so this type of pathos its more for those who are inactive.

The pictures in the ad, showthree people that look like nurses, this makes the reader to think about a nurse, theres several things that comes to mind when you see a nurse, and one of those things that comes to peoples mind, isthat to be a nurse is to have a well decent paid job. The middle 50 percent nurses earn between $51,640 and $76,570. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $43,410, and the highest 10 percent earnedmore than $92,240. Maybe the reader doesn't know exactly how much nurses make, but most of people know that they do make a good amount of money,
