A pool by definition is a still body of water, but for those of us who are dedicated swimmers know that it is much, much more. A pool to me is aplace of peace and quiet, a necessity, an addiction if you will. I have been in the world of swimming since I was about 7 or 8 years old. Basically most of what I remember from my childhood is broughtback to me by the smell of chlorine. There are many pools and thankfully I go to one of the best in the state.
It was a hot summer day in my grandparent’s house. In a corner I could see a rusty oldfan straining itself with a feeble attempt of dissipating the unbelievable heat. Then a sudden urge to cool myself overpowered me and that was when I got the idea of asking my mom to take me toswimming classes. I succeeded and landed myself a spot in the afternoon swimming class. After that summer we moved to Dallas and I quit swimming for a while until my mom asked me if I wanted to go back toswimming classes again. That was like music to my ears and I accepted joyfully. After about a year or 2 swimming in Dallas we moved to Monterrey. I started doing karate here but not before long I longedfor the pool and got in the Sport City swimming team and I’ve been there ever since.
I have been in the Sport City swimming team for about a year and a half and I have enjoyed every minute of it.The pool there is amazing. As you walk down the stairs to the swimming pool the first thing you see is a gorgeous swimming pool behind a transparent pane of glass. It’s a clear blue pool with almost asilky peace like surface nagged on by the constant ripples of the casual swimmer. Down the stairs, through the lobby of the pool you’ll start catching glimpses of the gym separated from the pool byanother pane of glass. When you are opening the clear cold door the smell chlorine hits you like a bat hits a baseball and when your walking towards the pool you can feel the rough almost sand like...
