What I learned giving Spanish lessons

For my mini venture I decided to give Spanish lessons to people who where needed of my services, since I have Spanish as my firstlanguage it was easy for me to choose this idea and to put it in practice. The idea came to me when my dorm neighbor came to me asking for help in a Spanish homework I found out that I was able to make profit by charging here few dollars for correcting here homework and teaching here what were her mistakes in the Spanish homework. The costs of my services where 10 dollars per hour since the amount ofdemand was so low I needed to have a strategy where people can afford my services and that they will be satisfied by the services I offered. Another strategy I used for my enterprise was publicity I has giving advertisement my self going dorm by dorm offering my services and that is how people new that I could help them in there Spanish lessons.

Process of giving Spanish lessons

During theprocess of this project I realized that I needed special clientele since there is only few people in Dalhousie attending classes for beginner Spanish, I was lucky since my neighbor in Shirreff Hall was attending that class so I realized that she could be one of my clients I talked to her and she was happy with the idea of getting some help in her homework and getting some lessons for a cheapprice. I achieved my objective since I wanted to keep my business operating for more than two days and I wanted to see if my costumer was getting total satisfaction at the end of each class. When I ended the period of this project I made an interview to my client and I asked her if she was happy at the end and if she saw improvement results in her Spanish class. Also she told me in the interview thatshe was happy with the price she paid and that make me realize that my services could prosper into a real business and also I was making my costumers happy with the services I was giving to them.

The price

Choosing the price was hard for me and my partner since we needed and idea of how much people in Canada earn per hour and how much it is decent to charge for hour for special services inthis case Spanish lessons. We choose the price of 10 dollars per hour because we needed to make profit and since we were going to split earnings with my partner it would be 5 dollars for each that’s why we couldn’t exceed on the price and since we both have as first language Spanish it was easy for us to not spent a single dollar for us in the creation of the company the only thing we spend wasour time in two things first we used our time to do a publicity campaign by going door by door asking if they wanted Spanish lessons. That’s mainly how my partner and me decide to choose the price for the Spanish lessons.
