There are many different ways try learn. These are called STRATEGIES. But ones of more importants are strategy and prediction. They help to learn.
What’s clarification?
Is when you don’tunderstand something or you are unsafe of you hear. So, you can ask the people is talking “could you repeat that?” for clarification and understand and you have an idea more complete.
What’s prediction?Is when you think about what will happen. You guess what you will hear.
But exist more strategy for you understand English.
What are you listening for?
Know are many ways to listen. We listendifferently for different reason.

MAIN IDEA
Sometimes you don’t have to understand everything you hear. You just want the main idea, or general meaning. This helps toassociated only word about the topic. And you understand more easily. For example if talking the sport you will associated word what mean or relation the sport like play, tournament, and with the helpthis word you will created a main idea and understand more easy.
DETAILS
Sometimes you only need to understand the details, or specific information. Ask yourself, “What am I listening for?” exampleif you know is talking the weather you have hear the details like it’s cool, it’s raining. What help to understand?

INFERENCE
Sometimes people don’t say the exact words. You can still understandthe meaning. This is called listening “between the lines” or listening and making inference. Example if one person doesn’t express very well you only need something word and you will a inference what’sabout talking this person.
