a. How has thedigital economy expanded the marketplace of local businesses? How has it impacted community life? Give a specific example of a brick and mortar store that has profited from the digital economy.
b.What are the necessary criteria to be included in the global marketplace? How has the digital economy increased the potential for globalization? a) Local businesses now have the ability to gain customers globally and allow users toplace orders online. Instead of keeping a large inventory in stock, companies can order as needed or when orders are placed. A good example of this economy is Office Depot. I personally use OfficeDepot to order all supplies and more for our Campus. Since we have a national contract with the company, the same can be said about all or most schools. If I had to go to an actual store, I would probablymake it to Office Max or Best Buy since they are the closest. However, with Office Depot being in our area and available online, I have 2 options to choose from.
b) To be included in the globalmarketplace a business needs to meet few necessary criteria’s: access to the internet, ability to produce or provide necessary amount of goods, email address for point of contact, good website (notnecessary in case of a name your own price model).
