IntroducciónnEl Banco Central de Chile fue creado el 22 de Agosto de 1925, bajo el gobierno del presidente Arturo Alessandri Palma y envirtud al decreto de ley N°486. Sin embargo este no abrió sus puertas si no hasta el 11 de Enero de 1926.
El BCCH tenía como objetivo principal reestructurar el sistema financiero chileno, para eso, según el decreto ley N°486 se autorizó la “Constitución de una comisión organizadora del Banco Central de Chile” cuyo objetivo principal fue instituir los aspectos funcionales y administrativos.Cuando el Banco Central abrió sus puertas, comenzó con un cuerpo directivo que era conformado por 10 personas y con un capital de 150 millones de pesos, de los cuales la mayor parte del capital (47%) fue aportado por el público mediante compra de acciones, también varios bancos comerciales y extranjeros aportaron, (40%) y el resto fue aportado por el gobierno de Chile (13%).
