In North America there are four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. Each season has three months. The months of spring areMarch, April, and May. Officially, spring begins on March 21st. It is usually cold and windy in March but there are some warm days. It often rains in spring, especially in April, but May is beautiful. Theplants and trees become green, and there are flowers of many colors. Summer is the hottest season of the year. It begins on June 22nd and ends in August. The months of summer are June, July, andAugust. School ends and vacation begins. In summer the sky is clear and cloudless. The days are long and the nights are short and warm. Summer brings fruits and vegetables. People go on picnics and go tothe beach. Summer is always too short.
After summer comes fall or autumn. The fall months are September, October and November. It begins on September 23rd .The weather is nice in September, butschool begins and vacation ends. In October the leaves change color. They become yellow, red, and brown. The colors are very beautiful. But then the leaves fall from the trees.
Winter is the coldestseason of the year. The days are short and the nights are long. It begins on December 22nd.The winter months are December, January, and February. It is usually cold in December, but people are veryhappy at Christmas. In many places it snows in the winter. Children play in the snow, and people go skiing and ace-skating.
