ELEMENTS OF LIFE

Biological role of Oxygen:oxygen atoms are present in water (H2O) and water is essential to all life. 
Food sources of each: The foods that you provide greater amount of energy arethe ones that contains oxygen, that is to say, the carbohydrates (starch, vegetables, whole grains), lipids (vegetable and animal fats) and proteins (dairy). Biological role of Carbon: All living organisms contain carbon; the human body is about 18% carbon by weight and also the sun contain carbon.
Food sourcesof each: Whether you bite into an apple, steak or ice cream, you're sure to get plenty of one type of element: carbon. Because carbon is present in all knownforms of life, so every food we eat contains carbon.

Biological role of Hydrogen:  It makes up two of the three atoms in water and water is absolutelyessential to life.
Food sources of each: Water, carbohydrates, fats (lipids) and proteins contain hydrogen.

Biological role of Nitrogen: is a key componentof biological molecules such as proteins (which are made from amino acids, and nucleic acids).
Food sources of each: Some foods contain nitrogen, includingspinach and lentils, are high in both protein and in purines .Also Protein food, purine food, and other foods contains nitrogen.

Biological role of Calcium:Is essential for life. It forms part of cell walls and bones. It is important for blood clotting.
Food sources of each: Milk, and some carbohydrates.
