Feria cientifica fertilizantes organicos (inglés)

Introduction

We are having the problem in our planet that chemical fertilizers are

contaminating our soil and water because they are composed of high

concentrations of mineral salts,they are capable of killing off many of the

soil organisms that are responsible for decomposition, and soil formation. If

only chemicals are added, the soil gradually loses its organic matterand

microbiotic activity. If we utilize the organics fertilizers differ from chemicals,

in that, they feed your plants while building the soil's structure. Soils with lots

of organicmaterial, remain loose and airy, are better able to hold moisture

and nutrients,foster growth of soil organisms, including earthworms, and

promote healthier root development.

Different peoplesuggest different fertilizers that are traditionally

favored as effective for a bountiful harvest. I propose to experiment

with some of them to determine their effectiveness, namely : coffeegrounds, potato peel, egg peel and a solution of water and soap.

Materials

4 bean seeds

4 clear cups

coffee grounds

eggshell peelings

dishwashingsoap-and-water solution

soil

potato peels

Procedure

The four disposable cups will be filled half-way with soil. And label as

following cup #1-coffee grounds cup # 2 soapand water, cup #3

potato peels, cup # 4 egg shell.

One bean seed will be planted on each.

Add to each cup the respective fertilizer. Each cup will have the sameamount of organic fertilizer that is ¼ cup.

The cups will be examined daily for 8 days to observe the sprouting and

growing of the beans.

Photos will be taken of each cupon days 1, 4 and 8.

A graphic will be made to follow plant growth in inches during the

seven days.
