VICTORIA BERMUDEZ ARA It makes sense to claim that, in the world in which we live, highly competitive, all organizations should strive to stay current. That’s why people who arein charge of any company should be able to collect and retain good leaders with the necessary skills to achieve results and manage talent, but what are these qualities? Are they innate or can belearned? Are they essential for success?
My father, a hotel manager, used to say that his job is all about negotiating. In fact, he told me, you spend your whole life negotiation: with your wife, withyour children, with your friends ... The traditional theory tells us that the nature of managerial work consists of planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Mintzberg takes it a step further anddefines ten roles that Kotter gathered four years later with a new proposal. Let's see which of these roles can be found in the selected video:

The dominant general management role that I see is the role of leader.When speaking he denotes passion for what he does, and that contagious passion motivates and excites the public. The story of his friend, the ballet dancer diagnosed Parkinson’s, creates that necessaryemotional bond that will keep the audience in suspense until the end of the talk.
