Resumen GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System), es el acrónimo que se refiere al conjunto de tecnologías de sistemas de navegación por satélite que proveen deposicionamiento geoespacial con cobertura global de manera autónoma. Los orígenes del GNSS se sitúan el los años 70 con el desarrollo del sistema militar estadounidense GPS (Global Positioning System), destinado al guiado de misiles, localización de objetivos y tropas etc. A través de una red de satélites, un receptor de GNSS es capaz de determinar su posición en cuatro dimensiones (longitud,latitud, altitud, y tiempo), lo que ha dado lugar a multitud de aplicaciones civiles y militares. En este trabajo se estudia el estado del arte de los sistemas GNSS: abordando distintos aspectos de dicha tecnología, así como su composición y funcionamiento, posibles fuentes de error o aplicaciones. Se presentaran también los distintos sistemas existentes en la actualidad y futuros proyectos. Por último,se analizan las organizaciones implicadas en el desarrollo y despliegue de estos sistemas, así como diversos estudios económicos que confirman la importancia que dicha tecnología está empezando a cobrar en la actualidad. Estos dos apartados son especialmente útiles e informativos sobre posibles oportunidades de negocio y profesionales en el sector de las telecomunicaciones. Abstract GNSS(GlobalNavigation Satellite System), is the acronym that refers to the group of technologies of Navegation Satellite Systems that provide geo-spatial positioning with global coverage in an autonomous way. The origins of GNSS date back in the 70s with the development of the militar system GPS (Global Positioning System), aimed to missile guidance, targets and troops location, etc. Through a satelliteconstelation, a GNSS receptor is able to set its position in four dimensions ( longitude, latitude, altitude, and time), this has caused the appereance of lots of civil and military applications. Through this work the state of art of GNSS will be studied: tackling different aspects of this technology, as well as its composition and its operation, possible error sources or aplications. Differentcurrent systems and future projects will be presented as well. Finally, we analyze the organizations involved in the development and deployment of these systems, as well as several economic studies that confirm the importance that this technology is beggining to have nowadays. These two sections are specially useful and informative about possible bussiness and labour opportunities in thetelecommunications sector.
