Driving is considered a privilege for many people in our society. Laws, regulation and rules are made that people must follow to be given this privilege. Also a certain age is necessary so that aperson may be permitted to drive. The question is what age is the limit for a person to drive? Senior citizens have been a group of the people who have been or caused accidents and this has been formany reasons.

One reason is that after some time, a person’s brain does not operate the same as it once did. Senior citizens tend to lose part of their memory and abilities that they once learned.Therefore, an older person may not remember how to drive or use vehicle. This makes it difficult for an older person who is limited to his ability of using a vehicle because of his age. This is a threatto other people that are on the road because an accident may occur because of this negligence.

Another reason is that a part of their memory loss, their vision can also be affected throughout time.Vision is vital for a person operating a vehicle. If one cannot see while driving, one shouldn’t drive. Many accidents, which could be fatal, may occur to these people. One can crash into other cars,crash into houses, trash cans and may even run over another citizen. A part from the memory and vision loss of a person, a senior citizen may experience an episode that may affect their lives.Senior citizens have less probability of living and more probability of having a heart attack. This is also a big problem and threat on road because an accident may occur. For example: I was once drivingfrom my house to college and I was on the freeway. I noticed that the car in front of me was moving from side to side. After a couple of seconds, the car crashed with another one. When it stopped, Inoticed that it was an older person who had a heart attack at that moment.
