The number of friends you have doesn’t matter. What matters is that you and your friends keep each other safe and healthy.
Before you can be a good friend to others, youhave to be good to yourself. Respect yourself and encourage yourself to make healthy decisions. Be assertive about teaching your goals and build a healthy self-esteem ( feel good about yourself ) andalways treat your friends in the same you want them to treat you.
To treat your friend can be demonstrated following these aspects:
- Caring: good friends care about each other and look out for eachother’s well being.
- Respect: good friends respect each other, their families and their values.
- Dependability: good friends keep their promises. They are around when they are needed, especiallyduring hard times.
- Loyalty: good friends are loyal. They don’t stop being friends with you to be friends with others. Stay with you in good things.
- Honesty: good friends are honest even when thetruth is difficult to say or hear.
Good friends create positive peer pressure for each other. When friends support each other, they make the relationship stronger. But not all friends are healthy,unhealthy friends is a relationship with a person that hurts your or who encourages you to do things that go against your values or hurt you. Say ¨no¨ whenever you need to.
Teen Dating
Duringyour teenage life you may begin to have closer friendships with members of the opposite sex. You may start feeling physically attracted to them. You may even have a crush on someone, or feel attractedto someone you don´t even know.
Dating: is going out with people you find attractive and interesting. One of the best ways to being dating is by group dating. Groups can date by going together toplaces, such as movies, parties or dances.
Group dating can help teens learn how to have healthy relationships with each other and how to talk to each other socially.
