This workinstruction supersedes all previous work instructions / maintenance procedures on MAGRINI GALILEO CIRCUIT BREAKERS types 38MG750, 38MGE1000 and 38MGE1500 with BM, BM20 and BM40 type MECHANISM.

1. Introduction
This work instruction is the revision of the document that was initially compiled and titled CIRCUITBREAKER: MAGRINI GALILEO, TYPE: 38MGE750, 38MGE1000 and 38MGE1500, RATINGS: 24kV36kV, 1600A with BM, BM20 and BM40MECHANISM to formalize the procedures of performing tasks when maintaining the circuit-breaker. The document includes the latest updates in information, format, photos to make the document more user-friendly, the critical tasks identified when doing this maintenance for the safety of maintenance staff.

2.1

Requirements
First and second line maintenance

a) Insulators shall be inspected forchips and breakages, a maximum of 20% of chipped or broken sheds is permitted on an insulator and chips or breaks shall be painted with Glyptol at the earliest opportunity; b) Pollution levels on insulators shall be monitored and an anti-pollution medium shall be applied in accordance with local requirements; c) There shall be no insulating oil leaks, if any leaks are found these shall only berepaired by authorised personnel; d) The explosion venting device shall be checked to be in good and functioning order; e) The auxiliary contacts terminals shall be checked for oxidation and for any mechanical damages; f) All oil levels shall be correct in circuit-breaker tank and there shall be a maximum level marks on tank indicating the oil level in the tank;
