Teresa of Calcutta

       He was born on August 27, 1910 in Skopje, Albanian village that had been part of the former Yugoslavia and at that time was under Turkish rule (now the capital of theFormer Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia).
Joined at age 18 in the order of the Sisters of Our Lady of Loreto in Ireland. He studied in Dublin and in Darjeeling before accepting the vote in 1937.
She wasdirector of a Catholic school in Calcutta, where the presence of dying in the streets of the city led to ask permission to leave his post at the convent and devoted since 1948 to care for the sick. Inthat year acquired Indian citizenship and in 1950 the diocese of Calcutta congregation adopted its name with the Missionaries of Charity.
