How far should a country be defended?
It is a fact that there are more reasons than ever to defend a country. While it is true that fighting for your country clearly demonstrates loyaltyand how proud a person is of being part of that nation; it must not be forgotten that wars always generate several devastating repercussions. Without doubt, politicians should be perfectly awareof those catastrophic consequences. Two illustrative examples of this are either the enmity between countries or death and destruction.
As far as the first significant impact is concerned,several negative effects can be explicitly mentioned. Once the war is started, the countries involved break any relation they used to have, and pessimistic feelings are automatically generatedamong citizens. Moreover, if one has a relative in one of the implicated countries, these individuals will not be able to communicate or see each other until the war is over. What is more, anyproduct can be imported or exported. Consequently, these lead to stop their businesses as long as the war lasts.
As dreadful as enmity between countries, death and destruction are seriouslycaused in every fighting, which has created a lot of family divisions. For instance, marriages are totally ruined. Besides, more and more children are being cruelly exposed to diseases, asthey are more vulnerable. It is more than likely that soldiers should carefully consider these facts before joining the army. Furthermore, they have to bear in mind the future of their familieswithout them.
To conclude, while it might be argued that there are various justified causes to strongly defend a nation, the truth is that enmity as well as death and destruction arespontaneously arose. Last but not least, I am convinced that wars are never a solution to any problem. Therefore, what cannot be solved on a conference table, cannot be settled on a battlefield.
