READING IN THE MEXICAN CONTEXT
Introduction:
In my opinion, one of the Mexican people´s problems is that they don´t read and this have influence in their human development and their quality of life, because their children and young people students receive a dreadful education.
Development:
According to statistics in our country there are 32 million young people and adults who don´tknow read and write, because they don´t have access to education and the others who do know only read 2.8 books a year so Mexico is in one of the last places in this topic in the world that are very few in comparison with the 25 books recommended by UNESCO and the average reading from countries as Japan, Finland, Norway and Canada who have the first places in the world with 47 books.
It is alsoimportant to say that the Mexican people who do have access to education aren´t accustomed to read so in a culture context represents delay.
Conclusions:
In conclusion I believe that this problem threaten the educational process and cultural of all Mexican people especially development of our Mexican students, because they don´t have the habit of reading and they can´t receive the benefitsof educational opportunities and in consequence they aren’t to get the knowledge and skills necessary to have success in their future careers.
I think that without a well developed capacity of reading our students can´t achieve a basic level of efficiency.
