Should Drugs Be Legalized?
Crime and insecurity are now two of the major problems in society. It is our responsibility to consider the causes and effects of legalizing drugs, because everyone’shappiness is at risk. Crime and insecurity are both caused by the usage and distribution of drugs. The legalization of drugs will increase crime and there will be more government intervention. At the end,no matter whether you use drugs or not; it is an individual choice to use drugs or not.
The legalization of drugs won’t reduce crime it will contribute to its raise. Drugs are one of the main causesof violent behavior. Crime such as assaults, domestic violence or suicide, will constantly involve drug abuse. The violent behavior won’t vanish just by making drugs legal. In fact, legalizing drugswill encourage our society to be more dangerous and insecure; because they will be available for everyone. A good outcome is that people wouldn’t have to exercise illegal actions to be able to buythe drugs, and distribute them making it a little safer for the consumers and dealers as well. Also, addicts won’t have to steal to acquire the drugs; and hopefully the kidnaps will come to an end.Many people is suffering and in some cases having to leave their country to find refuge.
Government doesn’t have the capacity to solve the economic problems, how can society expect the government tosolve the usage of drugs. If drugs were legal the list of consumers will increase rapidly, because drugs will become extremely cheap. Many people think that by legalizing drugs the governmentinteraction will decrease, but on the contrary; if government has restrictions on alcohol and tobacco, what makes people think that drugs will not have restrictions as well. There will be laws regulating theselling of drugs to minors among many others. The legalization of drugs will bring laws, regulations, and of course more government interaction, creating a new subject of discussion.
