Functional Description
The function of the Shuttle is to expand the component input selection of the GSM1 machine. The Shuttle provides 64 feederlocations. The net gain of new feeder positions is 48, as 16 feeder locations on the base machine are used to mount the Shuttle. The typical Shuttle cycle includes: The Main Shuttle moves the Shuttle Head to designated feeder locations, and components are picked. The Shuttle Head, with components, moves to the Transfer Shuttle. The Shuttle Head places the components on the Transfer Shuttle Substrate Plate. The Transfer Shuttle advances the components to the pick location of the GSM1. The GSM1 Head then picks the components and is ready for placement.
