Unit 2. Methods and properties

3. Location Unit
The eye is located within the sockets, these are placed symmetrically on eachside of the midline below the cranial cavity of the maxillary sinus above, and the orbits are spaced from the nose by the lateral masses and ethmoid unguis. There is a left and a right orbit. Each of theorbital cavities has the shape of a hollow quadrangular pyramid whose base is directed forward and backward vertex.
The major axis of the orbit is obliquely backward and inward, extending towardsthe occiput, with a depth of 45mm or so, being behind and low sphenoid. The width of the base is on average about 40mm and its height is approximately 35mm. The measure that separates the two sockets,the level of the base, is on average 25 mm.
Unit 4. Structure
The eye consists eyelids, eyeballs, the lacrimal apparatus and ocular muscles.
The eye wall is made up of three layers:
The outerlayer, which includes the sclera.
The middle layer includes choroid.
The inner layer is called the retina.

Unit 5. Function and Process
The eye is an organ that detects light and is the basis of thesense of sight. It receives light stimuli from the environment. The light passes through transparent media of the eye and the lens forms an inverted image on the retina. In the retina, imagetransforms specialized cells into nerve impulses. They come through the optic nerve to the posterior region of the brain.

Conjintivitis
Blindness
Myopia
PresbyopiaDaltonism
Cataract, among others.
Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the conjunctiva layer, mucous membrane that lines the inside of the eyelid and extending to the front of the eyeball.
They havea common manifestations (redness, photophobia and tearing, crusting, etc.), lasting between 1 and 3 weeks.

Bacterial, viral, allergic, and foreign body or trauma.
