Our land

The Earth is like an island of life in the midst of empty space. Scientists do not believe that life exists elsewhere in the solar system. In contrast, the conditions of our country are perfect. Lacks neither air nor water and sun gives us light and heat.
Our planet is surrounded by the atmosphere. It is a thin layer of gases (mainly oxygen and nitrogen) which extends to about 700km. above Earth's surface. It is in the atmosphere, which keeps the planet warm where all weather phenomena occur. This layer also contains other chemical elements: nitrogen, carbon and fry, constantly transferred to Earth and used by living things.

The temperature of our planet are the most suitable for the animals and plants survive and reproduce. Temperatures vary depending on the area of the Earth, give the cold of the polar ice caps to the extreme heat of the rainforest and desert. But living things have adapted to all environmental conditions and can find life almost the entire planet.

Desspace can see traces of the Earth's climate. The rotation of the planet and the temperature differences cause movements of air over the surface. This will form the wind, clouds and rain. The clouds carry the rain that fills the rivers and lakes. The planet's temperature causes the water stays in liquid state. If it's too cold, the water would freeze and if it's too hot, it would become water vapor. The greenhouse effect

The Earth's atmosphere is composed of many gases. The most abundant are nitrogen and oxygen (the latter is the need to breathe). The rest, less than one hundredth part, are gases called "greenhouse." We cannot see or smell, but they are there. Some of them are carbon dioxide, methane and nitrogen dioxide.
In small concentrations of greenhouse gases are vital to oursurvival. When sunlight reaches the Earth, some of this energy is reflected in the clouds; the rest passes through the atmosphere and reaches the ground. Thanks to this energy, for example, plants can grow and develop.

But not all the sun's energy is harnessed on Earth, a part is "returned" to space. Since Earth is much colder than the Sun, can not return the energy as heat and light. So send itin a different way, called "infrared." An example of infrared energy is the heat emanating from a stove before the bars begin to turn red.
Greenhouse gases absorb this infrared energy like a sponge, thus warming Earth's surface as the surrounding air. If there were no greenhouse gases, the planet would be about 30 degrees colder than it is now! Under these conditions, life probably would neverhave developed. This is what happens, for example, on Mars.

With respect to the greenhouse effect is causing a dramatic increase in carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere due to burning of fossil fuels like coal and gasoline, and the destruction of tropical forests. Thus, from the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere has increased by approximately 20%.The predictable consequence is the increase in average surface temperature of the Earth, global climate change will affect both green plants and animals. The most catastrophic forecasts say that even there will be a partial melting of the ice covering the poles permanently, which many coastal areas could be submerged under water. However, the greenhouse effect is a very complex phenomenon, whichinvolved a large number of factors and is difficult to evaluate both the expected increase in average temperature of the Earth, as its effects on climate.
Although it is not possible to quantify the consequences of this phenomenon, the most sensible approach is prevention. The increased performance of energy and the use of renewable energy, produce a decrease in consumption of fossil fuels and,...
