Fast Food
With today’s modern obesity epidemic fast food chains seem to have gotten a bad reputation. This controversy over fast food hasbeen brewing for awhile, but fast food took a hard blow when the documentary “Super Size Me” by Morgan Spurlock came out. The documentary tracks Morgan as he is on a mission to eat three meals a day ofMcDonalds for thirty straight days. As it goes along the audience sees the problems surrounding fast food chains that contribute to the modern obesity epidemic. At one point Morgan gave the figuresthat fast food companies have spent for advertising and it was outrageous. These costs breakdown into printed, radio, television, and online advertising with the latter two costing the most. Although itseems like a waste to spend large amounts of money advertising fast food online, many companies do it and it seems to be well worth it. The fast food powerhouse, Jack in the Box took this idea andran with it. This company’s website  is a well designed website and is well worth the large budget given to it.
The money spent on making seemed well spent considering how well it seems to draw theaudience in quickly and hold them through interactivity. The interactivity in this site allows the audience to buy gift cards, apply for employment, send feedback, see their story and much, much more.One example of the great interactivity used is Jack’s Office. In Jack’s Office the viewer can click on highlighted items and the site will react to it in some way. For example if one clicks on thetelevision then a box comes up that allows you to watch past commercials shown by the company. This not only gives the viewer a fun thing to watch, but reinforces the great qualities of the companysubconsciously to him or her.
