The United Nations (UN) is the largest existing international organization.Is defined as an association of global governance that facilitates cooperation on issues like international law, peace and international security, economic and social development, humanitarian affairs and human rights.
The UN was founded on October 24, 1945 in San Francisco(California) for 51 countries after the Second World War with the signing of the Charter of the United Nations.
From its headquarters in New York, Member States of the United Nations and other bodies linked provide advice and decide on administrative significant issues and regular meetings held during the year. The UN is structured in several organs, including the main ones are: General Assembly,Security Council, Economic and Social Council, General Secretariat Trusteeship Council International Court of Justice. The main public figure of the UN is the Secretary General. The current is Ban Ki-moon of South Korea, who took office on January 1, 2007, replacing Kofi Annan.
As of 2010, the UN has 192 member states, virtually all internationally recognized sovereign states. There are exceptions suchas the Holy See, which has observer status, and the Republic of China-Taiwan (a special case).
The European headquarters (and second world headquarters) of the United Nations Organization is in Geneva, Switzerland.
The official UN languages are six: Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, French, English and Russian.

Italy, officially the Italian Republic (Repubblica Italiana in Italian) is a European country that is part of the European Union (EU). Its territory is made up mainly the Italian peninsula and two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. In the north it is bordered by the Alps, where it borders France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. Theindependent states of San Marino and Vatican City are enclaves within Italian territory. It is the third European Union country that receives more touristsper year, Rome's third largest city visitada.3 Another important city is Milan, a center of finance and industry, according to the Global Language Monitor, the capital of fashion. 4 Italy is a democratic republic is part of the G8 or Group of Eight leading industrial nations and is a developed country with a very high quality of life, found in 2005 among the top eight of world.5
He also enjoys ahigh human development index, with the 18 th world.6 most developed country is a founding member of the European Union, signing the Treaty of Rome in 1957. It is also a founding member of the Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the World Trade Organization, Council of Europe and the Western European Union. The country, andespecially Rome, has a strong impact on policy issues and culture in global organizations like the Organization for Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), 7 the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Glocal Forum, 8 or the World Food Programme (WFT.)
