Overpopulation in China: The one child per family rule.
The cruelty and inhumanity that drag the one child per family rule in China are very notorious, better reflected by the following experience;‘’A young mother lies on a clinic bed, her hair obscuring her face. She appears as inert as the baby lying beside her. But 23-year-old Feng Jianmei is still alive, whereas her baby girl is not. The babywas killed while still in the womb by an injection arranged by local family-planning officials. They restrained Ms. Feng, who was seven months pregnant, and then induced her to give birth to the deadbaby’’ (The Economist, 2012, p1). All of this, to achieve the so-called law of one-child per family.  
In china, the one-child family rule was introduced as a result of the economic stagnationduring the Cultural Revolution. According to this policy a couple was allowed to have only one child with a few exceptions. For example, in rural areas if the child turned out to be a girl, they wereallowed to have a second child but after the second child, they were not allowed to have any more children. Even though this rule was designated as a "temporary measure," it continues a quarter-centuryafter its establishment. However, in order to put an end to female discrimination, the one child per family rule should be abolished.
First of all, it’s clear that this rule promotes the discriminationagainst female newborns, from abortions, abandonment, unreported girls to infanticide. The preference of the son is traditional in China. There is thought that, the men inherit the lineage and arebusy with taking care of the parents during their oldness. On the other hand, the women marry and devote themselves to the care of his political family. Nowadays, because of the one child per familyrule, many couples only have one legal chance of having a son and they decide to trust in the ultrasound to identify the fetuses and to abort the female babies.
