Paul David Hewson
Paul David Hewson (Bono) north of Dublin grew up in the suburbs of Glasnevin. He is the second son of IrisRankin Hewson and Brendan Robert Hewson. In 1971, Paul, with 11 years left to move to Glasnevin Dublin city center and enter the college of St. Patrick High School. In this period of his life wasinterested in sports and excelled in chess, for the long trips to do and the strict regime of the school was causing a degree of discipline to which he was almost expelled for throwing dog excrement to ateacher Spanish.
In her childhood, Paul (Bono) together with his friends formed a band called The Lypton Village where they were used to give a nickname to the new members. Paul had many nicknames: was"Von Huyseman Steinvic", then just "Huyseman", then "Houseman", then "Bon Murray". The one had as a child was "Bono Vox of O 'Connell Street" and that he would like his final nickname "Bono". BonoVox Bonavox is altered, which is a brand of hearing aids. That phrase whose meaning in Latin is good voice. Derek Rowan, dubbed "Guggi" was the one who gave him the nickname because he sang a highenough volume that seems deaf singing. At first Paul does not like his nickname, but to learn the meaning, he accepted.
In 1976, Bono came to an ad placed by his schoolmate Larry Mullen Jr. in whichpeople are asked to form a rock band. Also in attendance were David Evans (The Edge), his brother Dick Evans (who left the band shortly thereafter) and Adam Clayton.
