CHAPTER 15 BOARD SUPPORT TOOLING MODULE
INTRODUCTION The following board support tooling options are available for the machine: • • • • Tooling Platen Magnetic Support Pillars (standard) Vacuum Box Tooling (optional) Dedicated Tooling Plate (optional) ProFlow Stencil Support (optional)
The tooling platen is the basic tooling module fitted to themachine rising table. The following tooling options are fitted on the tooling plate: • • • • Magnetic Support Pillars Vacuum Box Tooling Dedicated Tooling Plate ProFlow Stencil Support
Vacuum box and Dedicated Tooling Plate tooling are located on the tooling platen by dowel holes. Magnetic support pins (see drawing below) and ProFlow stencil support are magnetically secured to the tooling plate.Below the tooling platen are the stand-off pillars that secure and support the platen above the rising table top.

BOARD SUPPORT TOOLING MODULE INTRODUCTION
System Description
The various tooling support options are described separately in this chapter. The specifications for the options aretabulated below. NOTE Customers are advised to contact DEK Customer Support before developing thier own tooling modules for this machine. Tooling developed for other machines MUST NOT be used on the Vista machine. Vista tooling can only be 42.6mm high. DEK can advise on developing any of the tooling in the table below, however, the only tooling currently available is the Magnetic Support Pillars.Tooling Magnetic Support Pillars Vacuum Box Dedicated Tooling Plate ProFlow Stencil Support PCB Support Magnetic Pins Vacuum Box Flat Plate Magnetic Support Pin Diameter 19mm (0.75") N/A N/A N/A Remarks Manual Changeover Manual Changeover Dedicated to a specific board size, manual changeover Manual Changeover
CAUTION CAMERA DAMAGE. Do not leave any unused tooling on the rising table in
the areabehind the rear rail. If any object is left on the rising table outside the board printing area, it could collide with the camera carriage as the rising table moves to print height.

BOARD SUPPORT TOOLING MODULE VACUUM BOX TOOLING
VACUUM BOX TOOLING The vacuum box is manufactured to the same height as the magnetic pins irrespective of the thickness of the board beingprinted. The vacuum boxes can be constructed without top or bottom plates to allow for additional pin support of the board. Provision for machining of top plates to accommodate underside components is available. The box is located on the table by means of dowels.
