Poema 6

The Broken Promise

The soft, smooth breeze passed quickly over me making me shiver. The small, black shiny ants scuttled across the grave and the cob webs were attached to the head stone. I feltthe silence walking up to me and I could hardly see through the intense fog and the bar silvery branches of the trees looked like ghosts flying over the yard. The flowers on my hand were dropping as ifthey were scared, so I left them over my best friend’s grave, and on that instant all the thoughts came back to me.
It was a Saturday morning, I was playing at the park with my best friend Jim. Noone was there, just us, so Jim took advantage of that and told me his most precious secret that at his mother’s house in a closet there was a hidden box. I wanted to see what the box looked like but Ididn’t want Jim to show it to me because it was too much trouble for him as his parents were divorcing so I just left him alone.
Next day I went to Jim’s house again and I saw his pale face andblack eyes just as opposite as the angle and the devil, I was amazed! When he saw me he just didn’t pay attention to me, so I got near him and he told me to stay calm and still because he wanted to showme something important, so I did as he commanded. I finally saw it the box that was all covered with shining emeralds, glistening diamonds and peaces of gold attached to it. I felt as if I was apirate looking for a lost treasure since long time ago. It also had a big lock on it and the varnished, shiny wood looked like a million dollar antique furniture.
Jim looked very preoccupied so we wentoutside to get some fresh air and on that moment Jim got a shovel and started digging, I also helped him dig but I didn’t understand why we were doing this. After that I went back home to study, andnever saw Jim again.
