The purpose of this essay is to inform, explain and give my personal point of view abput two important problems in our society that have beenaround us for many years now.It is very easy to make a judgement based on the poor information that we know, this kind of label that we sometimes put to people is called a stereotype.  Chimamanda Adichie is an African writer who lived the experience of being stereotyped and also to stereotype other people because of the lack of information or knowledge of the truefacts, she tells her story of when she arrived to U.S.A how people had the wrong idea of Africa and how she realized that it is a big mistake to believe only in a “single story” instead oftaking the time to know the “complete story”.
According to Chimamanda Adichie stereotypes are not completely wrong it is just that they are incomplete and that is what people do notunderstand, there are also negative and positive stereotypes, like Mexicans have the stereotype of being warm, happy and very kind but unfortunately the ones that are more common are thenegative ones, because of a lot of factor like the television, magazines, the education you have had and the family.
Stereotypes and racism go by the hand and often people that do notunderstand that there are different kinds of people are also the ones who make a judgment by the first thing they hear or see. Racism is one of the biggest problems in countries like Spain,Germany, and U.S.A although there are many kinds of racism and each country has its own problem.
