Mr. Wilkinson,
Firstly, I would like to thank you and the Ethel Foundation for the academic scholarship I have received for the past fouryears. It has helped me pursue my academic goals by relieving me from the burden of spending my time out of class working to afford the additional expensesthat college bears upon all students, and for that I am tremendously thankful.
In addition to studying Economics as my major, I have chose to minor in Spanish.Minoring in a foreign language requires 27 credit hours (9 classes) of work in the specific language as opposed to all other minors, which require only 15credit hours (5 classes). Due to the obligation I have to my major studies and the unavailability of upper-level Spanish courses during the summer term, I mustcontinue my studies throughout the 2012 fall semester, consequently postponing my graduation date until December 2012.
With your permission, along with theapproval from the Foundation, I would be much obliged if I were permitted to receive the scholarship for one more semester. I truly appreciate the effortsthat yourself and the Bowen Foundation have put forth for the betterment and financial support of students dedicated to higher learning. Regardless of yourdecision, I will hold these beliefs for a lifetime, for I am forever grateful for what you have provided for me.
Thank you for your time and consideration inadvance, and I hope that all students whom currently or have previously received this gracious award have felt as blessed as I.
