HAITI EARTHQUAKE HOSPITAL PROJECT
Hospitales llave en mano: Una visión modular

BACKGROUND
The project arises as a donation of funds of the AustrianGovernmental Institutions to aid Haiti following the earthquake in January 2010. The funds focus to build a Health Center in the north of the country.
The management of funds and application to theHealth Center building is run through the NGO Hilfswerk - AUSTRIA and the project is implemented by SUCOMEX.

Site Description & Location
Saint Louis du Nord. Districtin the Nord-Ouest Department of Haiti 86.000 inhabitants The district consists of the municipalities of SaintLouis du Nord and Anse-à-Flouer. Saint Louis du Nord has 69.592 inhabitants. The site islocated in a Greenfield Area (19º 56.060’ N ; 72º 43.841’ W) It was originally an extension with banana trees that were removed and transplanted to a different location. It was the Governmentresponsibility cleaning and leveling and compacting the site.

Location Type Measurements Functionality Operation & Services ConstructionHaiti Nord – Close to Saint Louis du Nord Rural Hospital – 20 beds Built Area: 850 sqm Minor OT – Observation – Outpatient Consultation - Pharmacy Fully autonomous, self generator, water treatmentand sewage system Two buildings erected with prefabricated modular panels galvanized and mineral wool insulation. Construction type: modular 20-feet container with secondary steel roof which coversthe whole structure.
