Hugo Ferdinand Boss (July 8, 1885 - August 9, 1948) was the founder of the fashion house Hugo Boss AG and a convinced Nazi supporter who licensed the Third Reich for making paramilitary uniforms ofthe Hitler regime in the period before World War II and during this period for the Waffen SS and the Wehrmacht.

Boss was born in Metzingen, Germany. After completing his apprenticeship and one year of employment, he founded his owntextile company in Metzingen between 1923 and 1924. The line of work Boss textile focused on tailoring work for German industry, the ministry post, raincoats, sportswear and police uniforms. His workshopenlisted 22 workers. Hugo Boss by then had industrial relations and Jewish tailors communist tendency as the family Herold who was executed in the Netherlands.
