INTRODUCTION

Copper isfound in nature in the form of salts such as sulphides, arsenides, chlorides and carbonates, the most common is the chalcopyrite CuFeS2.
The copper is obtained by oxidative combustion and foundation, followed by electroplating from the dissolution of sulphate

The metal is ductile and malleable, shiny Dorad, is a good conductor of electricity and heat, is recistente to attack non-oxidizing acidssuch as hydrochloric acid, however, is attacked by nitric and sulfuric acid, in presence of air, to give solutions containing the cation Cu (H2O) 6, the equation for the reaction with nitric acid is3Cu +8 HNO3-3Cu (NO3) 2 +2 NO +4 H2O

To basify the copper salt solutions, it forms a gelatinous hydroxide presipitado which lacks definite crystalline structure. This hydroxide is really ahydrated oxide, which loses water by the action of heat and forms copper oxide (II), black color and basic character as it is dissolved by action of strong acids.

From the position in the electromotiveseries can be easily reduced to metallic copper from acidic solutions of copper sulfate (II), zinc or magnesium used for the reduction.

Objective of the practice

Using techniques previouslylearned how to measure the mass, decanting, washed and dried in a water bath, to transform a mass number of copper salts and regain elemental copper. Remember the principles of atomic theory.
Analyzingthe nature of the ionic bonding and its effect on the ionic properties of the compounds.

Hypothesis

We think that the cooper can transform to a lot of compounds because is an element...
