Quito's international airport has several peculiarities. On one side is one of theworld's highest (2,800 meters) and on the other hand is located within the town (just 5milesfrom the center). What is it one of the world's most dangerous airports.Following the inauguration is expected that the new Quito airport in the town ofTababela a safer area. Along withthe Guayaquil airport concentrate the vast majority of international and domestic flights in the country. Quito airport served nearly 4.56 million passengers in 2009, with flights to the Americas and Europe.

The airport is located 5 km (3 miles) from downtown Quito

Number of terminals - 2 - one national and oneinternational and given its proximity, is within walking distance of each other.
Public buses, express and communicate taxis to the airport with the city. From the airport there are several buslines that go to the center of the city and some districts of the city. There are different tariffs for elderly and disabled passengers. The journey to the heart of Quito lasts no longer than 15minutes. There is space for taxis in front of the international arrival hall, like a space for tour buses that drive on the roads used solely for this purpose.
The airport alsooffers ATMs, currency exchange office, post office, conference rooms, VIP section and press rooms, public telephones and internet access Wi-Fi, among other facilities.
