Dear Sir,

I am writing to express my disappointment with the content of the article, concerning the declining role in the family of fathers, published a couple ofdays ago. To begin with, I feel that generalise may be a mistake; everyone is different. Of course, there are fathers who don't face up the reality of their homes orsimply prefers someone else to take care of their children. Nevertheless, there is a great number of fathers who feel up to get involve in their family lives. This isthe case of my father who, even in the adversity, has always been there for my sister and me.
He has always been a part of my daily life. In fact, he's the one whomost of the times has given me advice about important stuffs such as what degree should I choose or why shouldn't I give up on those moments when I feel lost. I mustrecognise that his advices has always been the wisest ones: 'you must do what makes you happier, which is in fact the only important thing in life'. On the other hand, itcould also be said that my father is one of those people who spend their time outside home not for fun but for work, which has even more merit because, even thought, hehas always found time to ask about the day or just listen. Therefore, I think that my father is a person who knows me really well and also has a very clear role notonly in my home but also in my life.
For all the reasons set out above, I deeply belive that there exist real fathers who do know their children and who actually aremodels to follow. Who could be a better model to follow than the person who has raised you and taught you everything he knows?
Yours faithfully,
Ana de la Torre
