Introduction about the author

Aldous Leonard Huxley (26 July 1894 – 22 November 1963) was an English writer and one of the most prominentmembers of the famous Huxley family. Best known for his novels including Brave New World and a wide-ranging output of essays, Huxley also edited the magazine Oxford Poetry, and published short stories, poetry, travel writing, film stories and scripts. Huxley spent the later part of his life in the United States, living in Los Angeles from 1937 until his death. Aldous Huxley was a humanist, pacifist,and satirist, and he was latterly interested in spiritual subjects such as parapsychology and philosophical mysticism. He is also well known for advocating and taking psychedelics. By the end of his life Huxley was widely recognized to be one of the pre-eminent intellectuals of his time and respected as an important researcher into visual communication and sight-related theories as well.Introduction of the book

This story takes places in a future world, where the new era is counted from the year in which the Model T Ford, the first motor car, was first produced. Its inventor, Henry Ford, has become a god, referred to as Our Ford, or His Fordship. The era is title A.F. -After Ford. The story is seat in the year 632 A.F. that is, more than 500 years from now. Much of the action takesplace in and around London.

Description of characters

Bernard Marx: Works in the center of the incubation. It is considered an Alpha-Plus (the best level). During embryonic growth had an accident and therefore is lower than normal. It is a shy person with everyone and many people ignore for their characteristics. During the course of the work is just adjusting to society and becomesmore conformist. At the end of the story he is sent to an island for his attitude. When threatened, Bernard can be petty and cruel.
Lenina Crown: Also works in the Incubation Centre with his partner Bernard and first loves. Is an Alpha very attractive, with blonde hair, blue eyes and very good body. When she goes to the Savage Reservation with Bernard Marx, she hates everything he sees and in all the bookshe says throughout phrases that she has learned during his lifetime. Have sex in the book and at the end of the story does not know that about her.
Helmholtz Watson: It is the only friend that Bernand had and the only that can understand and help him. It’s a successful man with the women and the work. It is middle-aged and attractive. Displays a empty attitude, as if nothing is filled him. Atthe end of the work is also sent to an island for thinking differently than society.
John: He is the son of Linda, who is the ex-girlfriend of the director of center incubation. In the book no says physical feature of this character. He was found by Bernard and Lenina in the Savage Reservation. In the transcours of the story this character becomes the most important and has a lot of protagonism.In the Savage Reservation it isn’t accept because her mother have a bad image. At the end commits suicide.
Mustafá Mond: During the work is not described physically. She is very sympathetic to Helmholtz, Bernard and especially with John. Gives banned books for John to find out what really matters. It’s like a governor.
Henry Foster: Is a fair-haired, blue-eyes young man. During the book maintainsrelationships with Lenina. In the book there isn’t a lot of information about this character.
Linda: Are overweight, with a dirty and broken teeth and a disastrous hair. Is the John’s mother and she is the ex-girlfriend of the director of center incubation. It isn’t very well treated and in the end of the story she died.
