a. He received his bachelor in architecture in 1941
b. After that he joined tothe US army
c. in 1947 he got his doctorate in philosophy of science
5. Thanks to his knowledge and experience he became the president of ORSA (Operations Research Society ofAmerica) (operations research and management)
6. He wrote a book called "introduction to operations research", This book was 1 of the first publications that helped to defined the field7. At the Wharton School was noted for combining theory and practice driving the students to independence thought and action
8. 1987 was president of the International Society for theSystems Sciences
9. He wrote a book about purposeful system focused on how system thinking relates to the human behavior
10. Later, he worked has a consultant in a very large range ofindustries like: aerospace, chemical, electronics, food, health, telecommunications and many others
11. One of his last book was about the F-laws, there he describes over 100 observationsabout bad management in organizations. According to Ackoff "f-Laws are truths about organizations that we might wish to deny or ignore
12. According to Ackoff the 5 steps of planning are:* Determine the problem (what is?, what tends to be?)
* Determine the objective (what should it be?, what does we want?)
* Determine the method (How to reach theobjective?, What we can do than we must do?)
* Determine resources (What does we have?)
* Design the implementation and control; determine the people, time, place and consequences
