SENSE AND SENSIBILITY
By Jane Austen

Introduction
Elinor, Marianne and Margaret Dashwood are three orphans whose stepbrother, John, is the only heir of all the state of his father. The girls have to survive with their mother with only 500 pounds per year, and for that they have to live on a field. Before they leave their old home, Elinor meets John's brother in law, and she falls in lovewith him.
Once they're living in another place, Marianne finds a handsome man, called John Willoughby, a man whose subsequent behavior with Marianne will cause her a painful process of maturation.

Summary
The story focuses in the two sisters, Elinor and Marianne, whose personalities are just like the title, the “sense” which represents Elinor, and the “sensibility” represents Marianne.
TheDashwood family used to live in Sussex, in Norland Park. Henry Dashwood, who died soon, inherits everything to his son, John, who promised to take care about his stepmother and his stepsisters, Elinor, Marianne and Margaret.
He promised to give one thousand pounds to each one, but Fanny, John's wife, persuade him to take away a big part of the legacy.
Elinor and Marianne were great friends withEdward Ferrars, who was Fanny's sister, but Edward and Elinor had something... “Special”.
They stayed in home for a short time, but thanks to the simpaty of the Mrs. Dashwood, and a letter to the widow Dashwood from her cousin, they had the opportunity to live in another place. Elinor had to hide her feelings, and act like nothing when she was going away from Edward...
The family stayed with JohnMiddleton and Lady Middleton, they were so comfortable even when the Mr. and Mrs. Middleton were so strange and cold. In that place, the girls found Mrs Jennings, mother of Lady Middleton and the Brandon Coronel, who was a John's friend.
The family was accepted in the Middleton house, and coronel Brandon became interested in Marianne. They were so similars, but she was the kind of girl who likes tostay and wait for the real one... and the idea that he was 35 and she was 16, didn't like her.
Every morning, the Dashwood girls used to take a walk around the house, in the garden, when it started raining, and at the moment they were running back to the house, Marianne stumbled injuring her ankle, but in that moment, a mysterious man appeared, Willoughby.
He helped her to get back home, holding her in his arms. Marianne was charmed by this man, and immediately felt something for him.
Willoughby felt something for her too, so they used to stay together for a long time, falling in love even more. Elinor didn't think that it was good for her sister to show her emotions so easily, but Marianne didn't listen, and she was very happy enjoying the time with Willouhby.
Everyone thought thatthey both were engaged, but not even they knew what was exactly what they had.
One day, they were going to a reunion with Mr. John, but the presence of the coronel Brandon was required. When he arrived, he received a letter so he had to go to the city, and the reunion was suspended.
A few days later, Willoughby went with the Dashwood to say goodbye. He told Marianne first, and he broke herheart. A few moments later, Mrs. Dashwood, Elinor and Margaret knew that he had to go away for a time, and he had no intention to get back.
They didn't know about him for a time...
Meanwhile, in the Dashwood's house, Edward Ferrars came to visit only more than a few weeks, but his behaviour was kind of strange... He wasn't the same with Elinor. Then, he went away for a long time too.
One day, whenthey were at Barton, Elinor meets the Steele family, and Lucy Steele confessed her that she was engaged with Edward Ferrars since four years ago. Elinor acted like nothing, even when her heart was shattered.
Mrs. Jennings, during the time the girls were in Barton, became attached to them, and when she went to London, she told them to come with her. Marianne knew that going to London meant that...
