Margaret and Marianne were walking down the hill, suddenly Marianne fell down and couldn’t stand up, so Margaret saw a man close to them, itwas Willoughby, and this gentle man carried Marianne to her house. After this they talked some time and Mrs. Dashwood was enchanted with hispresence. At the next day they were planning to take a visit to a friend’s house but they preferred to jump on a carriage and ran away. Some dayslater he went to London for an uncertain time. Some days later the 2 sisters were walking together, they saw a man and immediately thought itwas Willoughby but it was Edward Ferrars from Northland. He told them some things about how Northland was and afterwards they went to havedinner. Everyone thought that Elinor was engaged, all of this misunderstanding was because Margaret (her younger sister) wanted her to be engagedand told everyone about their “friendship”.
When the two sisters went to the city, every day Marianne check the correspondence to look for aletter of Willoughby, and when Marianne received the letter and she read it, the notice was very bad because he told her he didn’t like her andthat he was very sorry if he did something that made her thought he loved her.
