Abstract
Education systems are very different all around the world, but University of Minnesota and Universidad San Francisco de Quito are very similar from each other. Both of them have a special focus in Liberal Arts Education which offers students a chance of becoming activemembers in their student community; they also have differences between each other like mandatory subjects in Universidad San Francisco de Quito that aren't mandatory in University of Minnesota, and both of them offer several resources to become involved in campus life.
Universidad San Francisco de Quito education system is principally based on Liberal Arts, which gives students the opportunity todevelop their talents in any field; University of Minnesota is very focused in it too. Universidad San Francisco de Quito and University of Minnesota require students to take several classes out of their majors to try new options. Finally, both Universities offer several clubs and student groups where students can participate in order to become active members of their university.
In conclusion;both Universidad San Francisco de Quito and University of Minnesota offer an excellent quality in education.

The University of Minnesota and Universidad San Francisco de Quito are very similar from each other because both of them have a special focus in Liberal Arts Education which offers students the chance of becoming active members in their student community; for instance, according to the Universityof Minnesota College of Liberal Arts website, it “prepares students to be independent and original thinkers, innovators in their chosen fields; to create meaning in their lives and in their life’s work; and to become productive citizens and leaders in their communities and the world”, while Universidad San Francisco de Quito College of Liberal Arts’ website shows that their mission “is to developthe national and international university students a critical attitude to reality, and an ethical commitment to contemporary problems through interdisciplinary education taught by a faculty equally committed.”
The CLA of the University of Minnesota website shows that it offers more than 60 majors and 70 minors in the College of Liberal Arts, these are included in a wide range of fields such asArts, Music, Languages, Psychology, Architecture and Anthropology. Universidad San Francisco de Quito Liberal Arts website shows that it offers majors such as Psychology, Education, Liberal Arts, and International Relations. Universidad San Francisco also offers majors in Music, Architecture and Arts, but they have their own college out of the Liberal Arts one.
According to the Official USFQwebsite the Universidad San Francisco de Quito’s education system is based on Liberal Arts Education “La Universidad San Francisco de Quito is a private, nonprofit Institution, based on Liberal Arts, which always seeks to train leaders: innovative, creative, and business minded people. We help people to learn how to design a map of their life, and how they can be the promoter of their life projects.”The University of Minnesota official website shows that it principally bases it’s education on 3 aspects: Research and Discovery, Teaching and Learning and Outreach and Public Service, so this shows that Liberal Arts is not the main focus, but it is still really important in it’s educational system.
