Embedded System
Do you know what an embedded system is? Some people don’t even know about this kind of systems even though, they keep a close relationship... Here’s an example, what if you ask aboutembedded system to some people in your neighborhood? I’m sure you will find almost every answer, negative. Then you can try asking about devices of everyday life, something like smart phones, iPods, security cameras, remote controls, the system that controls the elevators, and many, many other more, then you will find positive answers... And that’s why I’m talking about embedded systems thosesimple devices that you use along your life. At present, the earliest innovations of embedded systems are telephone and communication devices, so much that now everyone has easy access to all thosecommunication devices. Our life is simpler and great thanks to those systems. So now, let’s defining what is not an embedded system: covering all those systems that has a microprocessor, the computer arethe only one that is not qualified as an embedded system, but why not? The computer are made up by lots of embedded systems like the motherboard, video card, audio card... So know, what an embeddedsystem is? A specialized computer system that is part of a larger system or machine. Typically, an embedded system is housed on a single microprocessor board with the programs stored in ROM. Somecharacteristics of embedded systems are: they are designed to do some specific task, they are not always standalone devices (they are conformed by some parts that together make possible the required result),their instructions are stored in a read-only memory. The embedded systems cover lot of important thing that we do in our everyday life, that’s why it’s important to learn what they are, how theywork, and why not get involved with this industry to help to make every artifact that people though it’s impossible, and it’s been demonstrated that, with technology everything you can imagine, can also...
